Health Insurance

To ensure all Beloit College students have adequate medical and mental health care, all students willbe opted-into Beloit’s Wellfleet student health insurance.

The 2023-24 yearly student health insurance cost is $2,153, with $900 billed to students for the fall semester and $1,253 for the spring. Opt-in health insurance and competitive vendor vetting allow Beloit College to better manage healthcare coverage costs.

Students who are covered by other, comparable medical insurance have untilJuly 15, 2023, to complete anonline opt-out waiver.

  • Should you decide to waive coverage, Wellfleet will need to confirm your coverage before the waiver is approved.
  • If you have Medicaid coverage from Wisconsin or Illinois you may opt out of Wellfleet coverage; if you have Medicaid coverage from all other states, you may not opt out of Wellfleet coverage.
  • If you have a medical plan whose costs you share with others, such as Medishare, you must accept the Wellfleet coverage.
  • If you are an international student, you will automatically be enrolled in this coverage as required by your visa.
  • Your healthcare coverage must be confirmed annually.

Whether you have your own insurance plan, or choose to enroll in the college’s plan, please note that you are responsible for paying your own medical expenses. Any medical expenses incurred will be billed to you and/or your insurance by the healthcare providers you see. Do not send insurance claims to the Health and Wellness Center or Athletics.
