John is currently Director of Bands at Janesville Parker High School.

John has been the announcer for the Wisconsin Band since December of 1994. John graduated from Beloit Memorial High School where he received honors as Outstanding Brass Player on the tuba and the John Philip Sousa Band Award. He marched as a member of the Tuba section during his freshman year in the Wisconsin Band. He was then selected as the Drum Major of the Wisconsin Band each of the next four years. He received a B. Music in Performance, a Teaching Certification in Instrumental Music Education, and a M.S. in Ed. Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

John enjoys performing on tuba, and euphonium with the Beloit College Wind Ensemble.
