艾米·沃德outsta认可nding academic achievement by American University

Amy Ward’ 22, double majoring in Environmental Studies: Justice and Citizenship and French, was recognized by American University (AU) for outstanding academic achievement in the spring semester of 2021. As part of Beloit College’s off-campus study opportunities, Amy took courses at AU’s Washington Semester Program (WSP) and completed an internship with Earthjustice.

During her time in WSP, Amy was recognized for outstanding academic achievement by her professors. One of them said that“Amy’s outstanding work and effort are exemplary and represent what we would expect out of a graduate student. Her dedication and professionalism set an example for her colleagues, who held her in high esteem. Her midterm examination was one of the finest read in years. Moreover, her research paper presentation on electric vehicles (EVs) was comprehensive and informative. She is an exceptional candidate and a person with high values.”

Amy (she/her/hers) reports that “WSP has opened a lot of wonderful doors for me to network and explore my career goals and I was lucky enough to have landed my dream internship, working on environmental policy, at Earthjustice, a non-profit environmental law organization. One really rewarding aspect of this internship was just the exposure I got to energy topics. For all that I thought I knew about climate and energy, I learned something new every single day through hands-on research experience. Through WSP, I was able to meet so many amazing people, including Earthjustice staff, my classmates, professors, and guest speakers. Building those relationships, even in a virtual world, was incredibly rewarding and I’m excited to continue fostering them as I grow academically and professionally.”
